2020, The Year of Mouse.

The animal that symbolizes 2020 is a mouse.
In Korea, the animal was close to humans, which symbolized fertility, abundance and hope, along with the bad meaning of carrying disease and craving grain. Koreans called the mouse 'Seo-Saengwon' and made it appear familiar to many folktales.
In this work, I put 'Durumagi,' a traditional Korean male costume, and 'Gat,' a traditional hat of 'Yangban,' a Joseon aristocratic class, and got the motif from the pose of a mouse, one of the 12 gods appearing in traditional folktales, and reflected it on the character. The rice and rich ribbons in hand mean a year of abundance. Unlike the traditional dress, the stylish goggles blend the modern feel.
Let's hope happiness, love and cash will be rich for everyone in 2020.
